The St. Louis Cardinals have placed Jedd Gyork on the 10-day DL after injuring himself running the bases with a right hamstring strain.

Gyorko injured himself during the eighth inning of the Cardinals’ 6-4 win over the Tampa Bay Rays on Saturday night and was immediately replaced by a pinch runner.

The Cardinals recalled first baseman Luke Voit from Triple-A Memphis in a corresponding move.

Gyorko is batting .272 with 18 home runs and leads the team in RBIs with 64.
