New York Mets third baseman David Wright continues to battle injuries.

According to Newsday’s Marc Carig, Wright will undergo shoulder surgery for a torn rotator cuff on Tuesday.

Wright’s career has been plagued by injuries. In 2015-2016 Wright appeared in a combined 75 games due to a spinal stenosis diagnosis.

During spring training this year, Wright learned he had an impingement in his right shoulder.

Wright has battled to get back on the field, only to suffer setback after setback.

The Mets have used a combination of Wilmer Flores, Matt Reynolds and Asdrubal Cabrera to fill Wright’s void at 3rd.
