The New York Yankees placed outfielder Aaron Hicks on the 10-day disabled list on Sunday because of a strained left oblique.

Hicks missed six weeks because of an injury to his right rib-cage and returned from a DL stint less than a month ago.

Hicks was hurt during Saturday’s game against the Boston Red Sox while he was reaching up to make a running catch of Hanley Ramirez’s drive on the center-field warning track.

Hicks was removed from the game.
