Diamondbacks Bring Back Brad Ziegler Via Trade

The Arizona Diamondbacks have brought back reliever Brad Ziegler after completing a trade with the Miami Marlins, according to The Athletic.

Ziegler, 38, spent 2011 to 2016 with Arizona.

Currently, Ziegler is 1-5 with a 3.98 ERA and 10 saves this season with Miami.

Diamondbacks To Re-Sign Randall Delgado

The Arizona Diamondbacks are re-signing right handed pitcher Randall Delgado on a minor league contract, according to the Arizona Republic’s Nick Piecoro.

Delgado was designated for assignment back in July and he has missed a big chunk of the 2018 season while recovering from an oblique injury that initially placed him on the 60-day disabled list, preventing him from officially starting his season until July.

A dip in velocity was noticed when Delgado returned, but he has a history of solid bullpen work with the Dbacks.

Diamondbacks Acquire Eduardo Escobar

The Arizona Diamondbacks have acquired infielder Eduardo Escobar from the Minnesota Twins, according to The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal and Dan Hayes.

Escobar, 29, is batting .274 with 15 homeruns and 63 RBIs this season for Minnesota.

No additional details pertaining to the compensation for Minnesota was available at the time of this writing.

Orioles Have Deal in Place for Manny Machado

The Baltimore Orioles have a deal in place involving shortstop Manny Machado and are working through the specifics, according to ESPN’s Buster Olney.

While the team has not been identified, both the Los Angeles Dodgers and Philadelphia Phillies have been diligent, while the Milwaukee Brewers, New York Yankees, and Arizona Diamondbacks have also been linked to a trade for Machado.

Philadelphia was the “most likely destination” for Machado because of the Phillies’ willingness to include pitching prospect Adonis Medina, according to MLB.com on Monday.

Machado addressed the media Monday and discussed the trade rumors.

“The only thing I’ve ever known has been the Orioles organization,” he said. “They drafted me, I came up with them, played with them. So I don’t know anything different.”
