If you’re a Major League Baseball player who has just won the World Series, there are few excuses to miss your team’s parade.

One of them of course being if you’re marrying a supermodel.

The Houston Astros celebrated their recent World Series win on Friday, and starting pitcher Justin Verlander wasn’t there, because- that’s right- he was busy marrying Kate Upton.

Verlander, 34, and Upton, 25, were wed at the Rosewood Castiglion Del Bosco resort in Tuscany, Italy on Saturday afternoon. The two headed straight there following Houston’s Game 7 win Wednesday night.

Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Verlander! Power couple to say the least.

What a few weeks it’s been for Verlander. Wins ALCS MVP, wins his first World Series ring, and becomes a married man. Hard to top that, for sure.
