Orioles Shopping Manny Machado Who Wants Move To Shortstop

Published

on

The Baltimore Orioles are actively shopping superstar third baseman Manny Machado, who reportedly wants to move to shortstop from his hot corner position, according to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.

“The O’s might not meet that target with Machado under control for only one more season, but their willingness to trade their best player is a marked departure for an organization that historically has resisted rebuilding and tried to field the best team possible under owner Peter Angelos,” Rosenthal wrote.

Machado prefers to play shortstop moving forward instead of his usual third base with free agency on the horizon.

Machado is likely to fetch one of, if not the biggest contracts in baseball once he hits free agency.

It’s unclear, at this time, what teams are linked to Machado.
