Red Sox Reportedly Interested In Logan Morrison

Published

on

The Boston Red Sox are still looking to make a big offensive splash this offseason, aka JD Martinez, who the team recently offered a five-year, $125 million deal.

However, if Martinez doesn’t end up working out, Boston may have a back-up plan.

According to Evan Drellich of NBC Sports Boston, the Red Sox have been in contact with free agent first baseman Logan Morrison.

Morrison, 30, enjoyed a breakout season for the Tampa Bay Rays in 2017, hitting .246/.353/.516 with a career-high 38 homers (fifth in the American League) and 85 RBIs.

While Martinez is still Boston’s biggest target, Morrison may be Boston’s best alternative without having to break the bank in a contract.
