Brewers Place Christian Yelich On 10-Day DL

The Milwaukee Brewers have placed outfielder Christian Yelich on the 10-day disabled list due to a minor oblique injury.

In a corresponding move, the Brewers recalled right handed pitched Taylor Williams from Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Domingo Santana is likely to take Yelich’s place in the outfield.

Yelich, 26, has hit .385 with one home run and 5 RBIs so far this season.

Brewers Re-Sign Mike Moustakas

The Milwaukee Brewers have officially re-signed third baseman Mike Moustakas to a one-year deal, according to The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal.

According to USA Today’s Bob Nightengale, the deal will earn Moustakas $10 million and includes a $3 million buyout along with a $11 million mutual option for 2020.

The Milwaukee Brewers have signed free agent catcher Yasmani Grandal to a one-year deal, according to The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal.

Grandal had a standing four-year offer from the New York Mets, but opted to land in Milwaukee on a one-year pact.

While Grandal had a nightmare postseason, he still presents a much needed upgrade for the Brewers backstop depth.

Brewers Sign Jake Petricka

The Milwaukee Brewers have agreed to terms on a split, major league contract with free agent right hander Jake Petricka, according to The Athletic’s Robert Murray.

Petricka, 30, will hold a spot on the 40-man roster as part of the new deal, which is pending a physical.

Petricka pitched the to tune of a 4.53 ERA over 45 2/3 innings last season with the Toronto Blue Jays.
