Brewers Activate Corey Knebel Off 10-Day Disabled List

The Milwaukee Brewers have activated closer Corey Knebel off of the 10-day disabled list on Wednesday.

In a corresponding move, the Brewers placed left-hander Wade Miley on the DL.

Knebel has been sidelined with a hamstring injury and hadn’t pitched since Aoril 5th, posting a 10.13 ERA with 1 save up until that time.

Miley left Tuesday’s game in the first inning because of a strained right oblique.

Brewers Sign Yasmani Grandal

The Milwaukee Brewers have signed free agent catcher Yasmani Grandal to a one-year deal, according to The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal.

Grandal had a standing four-year offer from the New York Mets, but opted to land in Milwaukee on a one-year pact.

While Grandal had a nightmare postseason, he still presents a much needed upgrade for the Brewers backstop depth.

Brewers Sign Jake Petricka

The Milwaukee Brewers have agreed to terms on a split, major league contract with free agent right hander Jake Petricka, according to The Athletic’s Robert Murray.

Petricka, 30, will hold a spot on the 40-man roster as part of the new deal, which is pending a physical.

Petricka pitched the to tune of a 4.53 ERA over 45 2/3 innings last season with the Toronto Blue Jays.

The Milwaukee Brewers have agreed to terms with free agent infielder Cory Spangenberg and is pending a physical, according to The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal.

While Spangenberg has struggled at the plate, he provides infield versatility as he can play second and third base, which could be a valuable asset to Milwaukee’s bench.
