Dodgers Release Erik Goeddel, Zac Rosscup

Published

on

The Los Angeles Dodgers have released veteran right hander Erik Goeddel along with left handed pitcher Zac Rosscup, according to MLB.com’s Ken Gurnick.

Goeddel and Rosscup were both designated for assignment earlier this week as Los Angeles was working out their 40 man roster ahead of the deadline to protect players from the Rule 5 draft.

The 30-year old Goeddel pitched to the tune of a 2.95 ERA this season, splitting time between the Dodgers and the Seattle Mariners, but he struggled with control as he walked 20 batters, threw 3 wild pitches, and hit a batter over 36 2.3 innings played.

Rosscup was claimed off waivers from the Colorado Rockies organization in July of last season and pitched 11 1/3 innings out of the Dodgers’ bullpen.
