Giants’ Ryder Jones Out For Season With Dislocated Knee

San Francisco Giants’ rookie infielder Ryder Jones will miss the rest of the season after he suffered a dislocated knee, according to Alex Pavlovic of NBC Bay Area.

Jones, who had recently been called up, suffered the injury while taking a hard swing, fouling a pitch into the stands, and immediately falling to the ground in pain, needing assistance from trainers to be able to walk off of the field.

Jones will undergo an MRI on Monday to determine if there’s any further damage to the knee.

Dozier, 31, is a highly regarded infielder, but posted a .215/.305/.391 slash line last season splitting time between the Minnesota Twins and the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The Milwaukee Brewers have signed free agent catcher Yasmani Grandal to a one-year deal, according to The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal.

Grandal had a standing four-year offer from the New York Mets, but opted to land in Milwaukee on a one-year pact.

While Grandal had a nightmare postseason, he still presents a much needed upgrade for the Brewers backstop depth.

Brewers Sign Jake Petricka

The Milwaukee Brewers have agreed to terms on a split, major league contract with free agent right hander Jake Petricka, according to The Athletic’s Robert Murray.

Petricka, 30, will hold a spot on the 40-man roster as part of the new deal, which is pending a physical.

Petricka pitched the to tune of a 4.53 ERA over 45 2/3 innings last season with the Toronto Blue Jays.
