Nationals Sign Anibal Sanchez

The Washington Nations have agreed to terms with right hander Anibal Sanchez on a two-year deal including $19 million guaranteed, according to the Detroit Free Press’ Anthony Fenech.

According to FanCred’s Jon Heyman, there is a third-year option on Sanchezs deal worth $12 million and Sanchez can earn an additional $4 million via incentives.

Sanchez, 35, was solid, posting a 2.83 ERA for the Atlanta Braves last season.

O’Neill suffered an ulnar nerve subluxation in his right elbow and Mayers has a strained lat.

The Mariners will receiver minor-league pitcher Sal Biasi as part of the deal.

Freitas will immediately report to Triple-A after appearing in 36 games with the Mariners last season.

The Colorado Rockies have placed left-hander Tyler Anderson on the 10-day injured list due to left knee inflammation, according to an official team announcement.

Anderson, 29, has struggled to start the season, giving up 11 runs over his first 2 starts of the 2019 campaign.

In a corresponding move, the Rockies have recalled right-hander Yency Almonte from Triple-A.
