Rockies Sign Mark Reynolds

The Colorado Rockies have agreed to to terms with veteran first baseman Mark Reynolds on a minor league deal with $1 million in base with an addition $1 million in incentives, according to MLB Network’s Jon Heyman.

Reynolds, 35, will get an invitation to spring training.

Reynolds posted a .248/.328/.476 slash line with 13 home runs last season for the Washington Nationals.

The Colorado Rockies have placed left-hander Tyler Anderson on the 10-day injured list due to left knee inflammation, according to an official team announcement.

Anderson, 29, has struggled to start the season, giving up 11 runs over his first 2 starts of the 2019 campaign.

In a corresponding move, the Rockies have recalled right-hander Yency Almonte from Triple-A.

The Colorado Rockies have signed left hander Jorge De La Rosa who was brought back to the organization via a minors deal.

De La Rosa, 38, spent 9 years with the Rockies, pitching to the tune of a 4.35 ERA during that span, and spent the last two seasons with the Arizona Diamondbacks and Chicago Cubs.

Rockies Call Up Pat Valaika

The Colorado Rockies have called up infielder Pat Valaika to fill the roster spot of the injured Daniel Murphy, according to The Athletic’s Nick Groke.

Valaika is coming off a red hot Spring Training in which he clubbed 4 homers in 49 at bats.

At this time is appears as though Valaika will serve in a bench role, as Ryan McMahon will take Murphy’s starting job during his absence.
