Kennedy, 25, has battled injuries since he impressed in his stint in the Padres’ minor league system.

Phillies Hire Bryan Price As Pitching Coach

The Philadelphia Phillies have hired Bryan Price as their new pitching coach, according to The Athletic’s Matt Gelb.

Price, 57, was the manager of the Cincinnati Reds from 2014 until 2017, and will now join the staff of new Phillies’ manager Joe Girardi, who was recently hired to take the helm.

Price has experience as a pitching coach, doing so for a handful of teams prior to his stint as the Reds’ manager.

The Arizona Diamondbacks have hired Matt Herges as their new pitching coach, according to the Arizona Republic’s Nick Piecoro.

Herges will join the DBacks staff after spending the past two seasons as the bullpen coach of the San Francisco Giants.

Herges takes over for Mike Butcher in Arizona.

Padres Hire Jayce Tingler As Manager

The San Diego Padres have found their new manager, officially hiring Jayce Tingler on Monday.

Tingler, 38, inked a three-year contract with the Padres, and departs the Texas Rangers where he was the Major League Player Development Field Coordinator on skipper Chris Woodward’s staff.

“Jayce has extensive experience in virtually every aspect of coaching, player development and baseball operations, and our entire group believes that he’s the right person to lead our talented roster,” Padres’ general manager A.J. Preller said via an official press release.

 “His multi-faceted skill set, combined with his ability to develop talent and help players reach their potential at the Major League level, were key factors in his selection as our manager. We are excited for Jayce to build upon the foundation we’ve laid in San Diego as we set our sights on October baseball.”
